About Us
Lead trainer - Lakiesha Maxey
‘For the longest time, sport and fitness has been a huge part of my life, I can’t remember a time without lacing up my trainers to go out and get active, whether that for team sports like netball and basketball or individual sports like athletics.
Fitness has had such a positive impact in my life in so many ways - it’s given me purpose and focus, challenged me and taught me resilience, kept me healthy both physically and mentally and allowed me to meet some incredible people and feel a real sense of community and support.
Words can’t explain the excitement I feel to be in such a privileged position to share my knowledge of representing my country in elite sports teams, expertise of hybrid training and love for sports and fitness with you all, along with my own challenges and personal experiences to.
I love helping people make positive changes in their life, so whether you’re looking for a friendly face in the gym, looking to improve your 5k PB or wanting to compete in fitness races such as Hyrox, I’m here to help you in your journey no matter how far along you are.’
A bit about me:
I was born in Basingstoke and grew up with my mum, two brothers, and a sister. My early years were mostly filled with running, competing at county level in both track and cross country and basketball. At 16, I joined a basketball academy as a student-athlete, where I captained my team to a national title and had the opportunity to play internationally.
After deciding against university, I embarked on a finance career with Deloitte through their apprenticeship scheme. This opportunity allowed me to combine full-time work with studying for my chartered accountant (ACA) qualification, which I achieved in 2021. My role not only gave me valuable professional experience but also let me travel extensively and work with local communities through schools and charities as a relationship manager.
Outside of work, my passion for fitness has always been central to who I am. I play netball at the Premier Division level and have recently embraced the exciting challenge of Hyrox competitions. These experiences, combined with a desire to help others, inspired me to pursue my personal training qualification.
I’m thrilled to combine my love for fitness and supporting others into a career where I can help people achieve their goals. I genuinely couldn’t be more excited to work with you and share this journey together!
